This cenotaph was build and unveiled in 1927 on The Remembrance Day. It held to commemorate warriors who had died in the World War I in 1914 to 1918, the World War II in 1939 to 1945, the Emergency and Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation in 1962 to 1966, and thousands of war prisoners and civilians who perished at the Thailand-Burma Death Railway between 1943 and 1945. Located at Ipoh Heritage Square, Jalan Dato’ Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Ipoh. Every Year in June, Ipoh salutation to veterans from Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom who were part of the Commonwealth Forces that defended Malaya from the First World War till the Indonesian Confrontation.
