The untouched rainforest is nestled within protected Belum Valley in Gerik. The Royal Belum covers 117,500- hectares of land situated in the northern part of Lake Temenggor. The virgin rainforest is estimated 130-million years old which is older than the rainforest of Congo and the Amazon. Rich in biodiversity, the Royal Belum is one the few places you can find rare species of flora and fauna. You have a chance to discover a new species of plants and insects, and also a rare species of Raflesia here. It is one of the remaining places in the country where you can view the animals roaming freely in their natural habitat. Avid lovers can get their fill of wildlife sightings from the observation shelters known as bumbun stationed near the salt licks located within the designated area. The Royal Belum house to the most exotic wildlife in the world including the most endangered species the Sumatran Rhino and if you are lucky, you are able have a close encounter with wildlife such as long-tailed macaques, gibbons, hornbills, Sambar deer, mouse deer, tapirs, wild boars, elephant and even tiger during the trip.

4.     Visit the Orang Asli (aborigines) village
